INACTIVE HOT CELLs

CORE’s Inactive Hot Cells are a unique facility in the UK, offering a full range of equipment, normally only found on nuclear sites including: 

  • PAR M3000 Manipulator with a 4m telescoping mast, cross travel trolley and long travel bridge 
  • 1 tonne remotely operated crane 
  • Walischmiller A200 MSM’s 
  • Walischmiller A100 MSM’s 
  • Carrs VNE 90 MSM’s 
  • Kuka KR210 Robots 
  • Range of tooling for cutting, shearing, and handling 
  • Simulated waste forms and containers 
  • Interlocked safety system to allow remote works 
  • Maintenance cell with full strip down facilities 
  • Control room with camera operation from up to 16 positions with full recording and streaming services. 


It is the ideal place to conduct trials of new equipment and processes before committing them to an In Cell environment.
 

State of the art equipment

PAR M3000 MANIPULATOR SYSTEM

PAR's very first project from 1961 and the most common powered manipulator found in the UK Nuclear Industry. This impressively engineered manipulator system is available for the training of operators and those with maintenance responsibilities. It is also available as a test manipulator to experiment with new tooling for decommissioning activities.

KUKA Robots

We have a range of KUKA Robots which allow us to carry out the trial and testing of new techniques for nuclear decommissioning activities and operation. These high-tech robots are relatively new to the nuclear industry, so we also use them for the training of operators and those with maintenance responsibilities.

MSM From Walischmiller and Carrs

We have a suite of 8 different MSM's Installed In our hot cell, originally built by Carrs MSM and Walischmiller. These are used for trials and testing and have been used to train our teams in MSM maintenance and installation.



Custom Test Rig areas for any project

Our Rig Halls are set up to allow for the efficient and supported trials and testing of equipment destined for use on nuclear sites. 

We understand the importance of supporting our customers to get it right first time, especially for equipment being installed in active area as the costs of mistakes can be huge.
